December 31st 2014: Do you remember how you felt about the coming new year?
When December 31st is approaching, many of us take time to reflect upon the year ending. With your heart full of hope you decide to make the new year YOUR chance to do a few things differently.
Do you remember the commitments you made to yourself for 2015?
And, what happened to all your new year´s resolutions? Are you following up on them every now and then throughout the year? Or have you parked them back in a corner waiting for another December 31st?
Every other day of the year is getting you closer to December 31st
That is why I have decided for 2015, to use each of the 365 days to accomplish things that I love and to pursue my dreams.
I invite you to find a formula to follow up on your dreams too.
1) First, write down your biggest dream if you haven´t done so yet. Make sure it scares the crap out of you!!!
2) Then ask yourself what you need to do for that big dream to come true.
3) Realizing big dreams can be a middle to long term process. I invite you to ask yourself what you can do still in 2015 for your big dream to come true. Set a goal for this year, that will take you closer to that big dream.
A couple of years ago, I came across the idea of setting goals by asking myself how I want to feel once I have achieved the goals. I love that because it makes my goals closer to the person I am.
I started this year by describing who I want to be and how I want to feel in every area of my life.
Here is an excerpt of who I want to be in 2015. Note that in the course of the year I have revised this description a couple of times already.
“I am a healthy, happy woman and an accomplished wife. I am a God-loving person and successful at running my million-dollars-company “Connecting Diamonds”. Connecting Diamonds is dedicated at empowering women to step into their greatness and create the life they love. I inspire my clients to let their light shine.”
Breaking it down onto a few aspects of my life:
1) I chose for my private & personal matters: to be mindful and enjoy every moment to the fullest
2) For my spiritual matters, I chose to trust life and surrender
3) For my professional matters, I chose to genuinely help women create happiness and fulfillment through my coaching & mastermind practice
I worked my way through to defining measurable goals such as taking at least an hour for myself every day…etc.
And my big dream is to inspire and empower women to create and live the happy and fulfilling life they deserve. I do that in that I fully live and enjoy being the woman I choose to be: a respected lady, a child within, a loving but challenging daughter, a caring and inspiring sister, an honest and true friend, a loving, fulfilled and challenging wife, a strong and loving mother, a caring, loving and unconventional grandmother, a touching artist, an inspiring and empowering female leader.
What is your big dream? And what goals have you set for 2015? I´d love to hear them in the comments. You certainly know, that when you share your goals your commitment to reach them is higher.
Now we are almost half way into 2015.
Where are you now? Are you the person you desire to be? Are you feeling the way you want to feel?
If not, are you ready to renew your commitment to yourself?
You can start where you are right now; every day, you can write your history. Everyday can be December 31st.
I cannot finish without sharing this quote. It is the most inspiring quote I have read in a while.
I invite you to read it and soak it in. If you are a person who tends to play small, then print this quote and read it every morning before you start your day.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
I am more than thankful to Marianne Williamson for opening herself to being a channel for this quote into this world.
NOW It´s YOUR TURN
